Their experiences, especially during puberty, are accompanied by contradictory feelings, curiosity and fear, hopes and disappointments. The eight stories tell how they deal with these feelings. They are therefore not to be understood as sex education films, but rather confront young people with the question of the interpersonal significance and the consequences of sexuality in relationships. Topics such as first menstruation, first sexual contact, homosexuality, wanted and unwanted pregnancy, partner problems and conflicts at home are addressed and portrayed, as are the possible psychological consequences of AIDS.

Borchert hates it when people lie to him. From his very first meeting with murder suspect Xavier Schliemann, he has doubts about the man's sincerity. The smart diamond dealer is accused of shooting his ex-business partner. Instead of testifying to Captain Furrer as agreed, Xavier goes into hiding. Then, contrary to expectations, the enraged Borchert stumbles upon evidence that exonerates his client.

Two identical twin brothers are raised by their traumatized father as one person. They go separately to school, sleep in the same bed and listen to the same name Thomas. The brothers look very similar, but their personalities are different. Only the passion for painting brings the twins together. After years of keeping their existence away from the world, the twins decide to follow their big dream. They want to become painters. The brothers leave their father, move into a house near a city and begin to work hard for success. Nevertheless the twins have to face, what had been silenced for years.

The divorced wife of a respected surgeon is involved in a hit-and-run accident and dies. Her husband is suspected, but manages to escape on the way to the court. Together with a journalist, in order to prove his innocence, he tracks down a flourishing organ trade and an unscrupulous gang of smugglers.
